Tabletop Simulator | Getting Started
Tabletop Simulator is a program that you can buy from Steam. In it, you can create and host board games. Today, we are going to focus on the basics of navigating inside someone else’s game. Your pre-flight checklist before flying around inside TTS is right here: 1) Have a Steam account, and 2) Buy and install Tabletop Simulator.
Tabletop Simulator | Joining a Game
Once you have Tabletop Simulator installed, you are ready to join a game. Have the host give you the game name and password then click JOIN from the main menu of TTS. Search the game name in the top of the browser and join the game.
Tabletop Simulator | Basic Controls
Here is a video showing you the basics of what you can do inside someone else’s game. The host of the game may set various permissions to prevent players from accidentally, or purposefully, destroying the game state.
Tabletop Simulator | Games to Try
Once you feel ready to host your own games in Tabletop Simulator, you should head over to the TTS Workshop. There are some professional mods that you can buy, and hundreds you can download for free. Below, we are listing some great games we found for free through the workshop. There may be multiple games available under each title.
Games With An Easy Interface
Here is a list of real world board games that are generally easy to play inside TTS. Look for them on the Workshop page for Tabletop Simulator: Connect 4, Zombie Dice, Point Salad, Splendor, Love Letter, and Century Spice Road.
Harder Games
These games may not all be heavy games in the real world, but they are noticeably longer or harder to play in TTS: Labyrinth, Puerto Rico, Istanbul, Clank!, Seasons, Codenames, Castles of Mad King Ludwig, and Space Base.
